WQXR's Beethoven Piano Sonata Marathon, which took place in The Greene Space on Nov. 20, 2011 featured a lineup which spanned a range of personalities and national schools. It included the flamboyant individualists Evan Shinners and Timothy Andres; the Russian powerhouses Daria Rabotkina and Natasha Paremski; and the Chinese up-and-comers Qi Xu and Yuchong Wu. Some, including Jeremy Denk, Jonathan Biss and Alessio Bax, are already boldface names on the international concert circuit; others are on their way.

...The dynamics, the gentle touch followed by powerful cadences, the nuances of rhythmic contra-tempos in left and right hands, and the fluid precision makes this a wonderfully masterful interpretation in technique and feeling....I am sure Beethoven himself would be very satisfied!

Wunderschöne Aufführung dieser fein komponierten Klaviersonate im lyrischen Tempo mit anmutigem Anschlag und angenehmer Dynamik. Genialer Pianist!

One of my favorite sonatas. I have heard every recording of this I've been able to find, and like his approach better. It gives the piece the right character. Really like his tempo. Most pianists don't realize the great effect the right tempo has on music.

I can't wait t'll he finishes his cycle. Maybe one that will rivals or even surpasses his colleagues . Because it's such a direct and beautiful playing .
