Old Hemi Cuda Beats up on NEW Muscle!

Показать описание
This old Hemi Cuda has us GOING at this years Street Car Takeover Dallas! The owner was running in both the 9.50 and 10.0 index class. The n/a 526 Hemi was enough to push this Cuda to run 9.50’s all day so he started in SECOND gear for the 10.0 class! With a little bit of driver mod and lot of the luck hitting the brakes.. this naturally aspirated land-yacht found it’s way to the final in BOTH classes! Now that’s what we’re talking about!

Love meeting people like him. Not so uptight, light hearted and always wearing a smile

"I can't snatch his soul it already belongs to Mopar" - that is the best line!!

This is what pumps me up. Phenomenal car, no power adders, great driver, great attitude. He was unbeatable that night. Love it

"Hemi, that's the power adder".

That guy is probably one of the best drivers I have ever seen. Reaction time and pedal control second to none. A Nine second Cuda on pump gas! Badass Build!

That Hemi Driver just made me smile the whole time every time I heard him speak. You can tell he’s a good person, this was a great segment 1320 and one hell of a driver!

Old cars sure look better going down the track than the new stuff, for sure. It was an era.

Don't discount the driving skills of this man either. Old school drag racer still competing with high tech muscle.

"What kind of power is it making?" "I dunno...700 or something like that." I love how laid back he is about it.

My dad passed away a month ago today. This was his favorite car in his favorite color. This was amazing to see and I wish he was here with me to see it. Thank you so much for sharing this

Great segment caused me to reflect back on my childhood circa, 1968
Dad was a Mopar Man through and through and bought a 1968 Hemi Charger that weighed in at 4025 lbs. He said he ordered it heavy because he felt more secure with heavier body for the
"top-end". I remember he said: "let the Chevys and Fords Have the Holeshot, we'll just come Roarin' back on the Top End".
I never saw him lose a race. Factory Hemi, 3:23 PosiRear, and Torqueflight Tranny.
OH...and twin Carter AFB 4 barrell Carbs, dual point ignition. One of my fondest memories was having him teach me how to calibrate the air/fuel mixture on those 4Barrells. RIP

It's absolutely wonderful seeing that vintage muscle beat all these new vehicles. That Cuda owner and the guy in the Demon show a lot of class.

I actually finished 3rd in the 10.0 class in my hellcat charger.  I lost to the Bel Air when I broke out with a 9.97 and he ran a 10.01.  Both the Cuta and Bel Air were dialed in for sure.  My race was not in the video but kudos to 1320 for great coverage of this event.  It was a lot of fun.

That final vs the bel-air was 1 of, if not the best drag race I've ever seen.
