Definitely a good idea to split up the physical TBR videos. I can't even imagine the editing, haha. Looking forward to seeing the others now ☺📚

What a wonderful jacket on that Hardy book and the black fore-edging! Makes me wanna own it just because. Did manage to find it in that variant on Amazon just in German🤣My schoolgerman simply isn´t adequate enough i´m afraid!, so pass! and keep searching! A very good TBR tonight, i do like a lot of them and want to read most of the rest that i haven´t! Thanks for your company this Sunday evening, much appreciated!

Great list! Lots I need to read on there, and of the ones I know here are my votes for what to bump, with some extras:

I LOVED the Great God Pan, only read it a few months ago but it really surprised me. And you can see how he was an influence on HP Lovecraft, looking quickly at the stories in that lovecraft edition you've got they look like some of his best (though it doesn't haven't my favourite, The Colour Out of Space). Poe you can't go wrong, tho I haven't actually read any of his detective stories so I need to get on that. Mrs Dalloway is now on my proper TBR as I DNFed it years ago (not because it was bad, I just wasn't ready I think), but I finished The Waves just recently and I fell in love with it, highly recommend it. Tho it was a lot more abstract than I remember Orlando being, which I also really enjoyed. Kafka's Metamorphosis you should also bump up, its an absolute musssst read and short so even if you hate it, no bother. Iconic opening line.

And that whole thing about not remembering whether you've actually read a classic or if you've just seen so many film and TV adaptations that's its all melded together? Yeah that keeps happening to me lol. And it reminded me of Henry James's Turn of the Screw, because I *thought* I'd read it, until I looked at a copy just recently and realised I'd put it down halfway and mixed it up with the amazing film adaptation The Innocents from the 1960s. If you've not read it yet it would fit the classic gothic stories you've got going, and it's only novella length too

Wow! Wonderful TBR. 😀I have always been a little unsure about reading the classics because I always think the writing style will be difficult to follow. 🤔 Can you recommend a classic book for me to start with? 📘
As always a fantastic video. 😘

Both Wilke Collins classics are good choices, as is Lady Audley's Secret. I would add Jamaica Inn and My Cousin Rachel (both Daphne du Maurier classics). You'll be forgiven if you think someone's spiked your tea while reading any Kafka!

I'll be curious to see how you like Ms. Dalloway...if you like it maybe I will give it a try 🤗📚

I have an edition of the Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales and I can tell you they are quite boring. I haven't gotten to any of the famous ones yet but I had to give up after 30 or so pages because that book was boring me to death. I may just skip the non-famous stories and read what I know. But, definitely not something I'm picking up anytime soon.

I saw The Phantom of the Opera live when I was little and loved it. I think I also wanna try the book and see if I'd enjoy it today.

I have to give Jane Austin another try. I started with Pride and Prejudice but d.n.f it. I don't think I was in the proper mood for the story. I'm pretty new to reading classics. 📚
