Tying the Bo Diddley Atlantic Salmon Fly

Join me as I tie a fly pattern devised by John Johnson of Newfoundland, the Bo Diddley Atlantic salmon fly. I can see this fly working very well for low water salmon fishing or when fish are not fully committing to a fly later in the season and coming short to similar coloured patterns like the cascade.

Dressing:
Tag: Silver oval tinsel
Tail: Golden pheasant tippet
Butt: Yellow floss
Body: Black floss
Rib: Silver oval tinsel
Wing: Black hair
Hackle: Hot orange and yellow tied together

FANTASTIC tie! It looks very similar to a variant pattern that I call a 'Skykomish Sunset' because I replaced the bright wing and body of the popular Skykomish Sunrise with a sparse bear wing and black floss body, and tied it Cosseboom/Dutot style. I'm sure many have done this before me. I don't often add a tail (cuz it's got 2 hackles and life's already too short lol). But I do like the look of that GP tippet.

Seàn where do you get your Fox Mask material from? Great fly tying.
