Video highlights from 2017:
46115 Scots Guardsman was withdrawn this year, before withdrawal we see her in fine form on the Welsh Mountaineer on the Conway Valley Line. Sticking with North Wales we see Jubilee 45699 Galatea heading along the North Wales Coast.
Next is a selection of demonstration freight trains from the Churnet Valley, Llangollen, Foxfield and North Yorkshire Moors Railway. 8F 48624 is seen during this sequence at the East Lancashire Railway, the locomotive usually based at the GCR is also seen at home and on a visit to the Llangollen. Another GCR based locomotive is seen next with Jinty 47406 visiting the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway.
Beattie Well Tank 30587 headed north from her usual Bodmin base to visit the Museum of Science and Industry, Manchester and the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway. Schools class Repton returned to steam this year and is seen visiting the Severn Valley alongside at home climbing Goathland bank. 35018 British India Line also returned to steam during 2018 and is captured on some of her main line test runs.
Next we see three locomotives from the Bluebell on tour; Q class 30541 at the GCR, P class Bluebell at the Severn Valley and H class 263 at the Warley Model Exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham, along GWR 1450 and a selection of narrow gauge locomotives. Narrow Gauge Quirks & Curiosities are featured at the Ffestiniog Railway, along with a selection of miniature steam lines at Rhyl, Ravenglass, Heathslaw and the Dragon Miniature Railway.
We move to Eastern Region locomotives next with GER J15 on teaks during a visit to the SVR, before GNR N2 is seen on the Epping Ongar Railway. Pacific's Tornado, Flying Scotsman and Union of South Africa are seen on the Settle & Carlisle, West Coast Main Line and East Lancashire Railway.
B1 61264 is captured visiting the KWVR, were we also see LNWR Coal Tank and Nunlow. Industrial steam is also seen at Embsay, All Valley, Beamish, Foxfield, Tanfield, Ecclesbourne Valley Railway and East Lancs.
Narrow Gauge Hunslets are seen at Threlkeld and the West Lancashire Light Railway. George England locomotives are seen in England at the Severn Valley Railway and Liverpool, before we see them back on the Ffestiniog of vintage workings along Fairlie locomotives.
My home line is the East Lancs, we see the ELR's Crab 13065 visiting Keighley. MSC 0-6-0T 32 Gothenburg is next seen, including on the 30th Anniversary of the ELR Members Special. Standard 4mt 76084 and L&Y 52322 are captured running during 2017, while two GWR visitors are also seen (6990 Witherslack Hall and 813). 6960 gwr Raveningham Hall is captured during her visit to Llangollen, before we take at look at Panniers and Prairies at the SVR and NYMR. Old Oak Common held a special Open Day during 2017. Finally we take a look at the GWR Manor class including the final run of 7812 Erlestoke Manor on New Years Eve.
