Dojo Raiding - Episode One: Gracie Barra, St Peters

Показать описание
Dojo Raiding has been forgotten by time. Though to be fair, roaming warriors, entering various gyms to fight students and masters really has no place in the 21st century. Until now. Dojo Raiding is our newly unveiled video series showcasing and highlighting the virtues, advantages and history of all forms of martial arts that have left their mark in Mixed Martial Arts.
Episode One sees our Dojo Raider, former-Bluejuice frontman, current host extraordinaire and all around martial arts devote Jake Stone venture into the doors of the iconic Gracie Barra gym in St Peters. Once inside, Jake explores the gym’s insightful and effective take on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
A form of combat focused almost entirely on grappling, BJJ is a curious martial art. Derived from Japanese Jiu Jitsu styles, namely Judo, BJJ was stylised to allow for smaller people to defend themselves against larger attackers. The style has great potential for self defence and due to its focus on using technique over strength, it’s well suited for women and children.
Jake encounters BJJ Black Belt Felipe to talk about the origins and sprawl of BJJ, before going one-on-one with head coach Fabio to learn more about the techniques and the concepts behind them.
Feeling the urge to learn more? Head on down to Gracie Barra, St Peters and speak to the world-class coaching team.
