To be fair Haja did distracted an Inquisitor (a galaxy wide known Merciless jedi killer may i add) enough time for Obi-Wan and Leia to get to safety, so i'm pretty sure Obi-Wan could sense the good in him, and could logically see him trying to redeem himself.

It would have been cool if he had been a real Jedi resorting to trickery to keep undercover because those magnets he used were awfully strong for magnets.

Haja is actually one of the better characters in Kenobi! I love how we come to see that he’s actually a good person who wants to help

Best guess is that Obi Wan sensed that Haja wanted to be a better person and his casual admission of his former criminal ways felt like him owning up to the fact that he was a massive screw-up and wants to do better.

Plus Obi Wan is friends with a Jawa who literally steals his stuff and tries to sell it back to him every day so that just goes to show how forgiving Obi Wan is.
