Shelby Cobras are the pinnacle of cars, that man was a genius

In 1962 I lived next to the East Coast rep. for allBell racing equipment, Robert Janssen. He had what I was told was the first 1962 AC Cobra on the East powered by a 260 cu. In. Ford small block making 260 HP. The car weighed 2400 pounds and was faster than all the muscle cars at the time. Bob used that car mostly for promoting Bell products ( shoulder harness, helmets) at such places as Limerock Conn. and the Poconos! It impressed all my high school buddies that were into cars at the time. Wonder what happened to that car. Youtube is a great place to bring back long forgotten memories!

A good friend of mine has a cobra ... He was out and about in town when a car full of twenty year olds pulled up beside the cobra and said. "Nice ride old man... What is it?" After the light turned green the old man left them in the dust. The twenty year old kids knew exactly what a Cobra is and can do! True story.
