Honestly about time Canon, this is a VERY strong outing with little of the Canon Cripple Hammer in sight!

I’m an FX9 user and I can say that this camera does almost everything FX6, FX9, and Burano does for way less money.

A very robust impressive offering from Canon that seems to do it all! I have a feeling they may be considering a future flagship EOS camera to be a combination of this sort of body with the 8K sensor from the R5c or R5ii. Basically a replacement for the C700. My bets are that they call it the C600 or the C800.

The 2k files on this camera look really interesting and I’m really gonna cheer for that resolution here. It’s so practical and if done properly it’s absolutely usable

This would tempt me to come back to Canon after 7 years.

Great video. Is the image quality with the c400 better than the image quality of the Red Komodo X? Which camera would you choose for filmmaking?

I've always feared Canon couldn't do full frame DGO, so is this a DGO sensor? I don't see it listed anywhere, just three base ISOs.

Edit @1:41 I see you answered that. Would love to see shadow noise compared to c70.

This is an impressive release by Canon. However, it feels a bit late. Many users went to the FX6. If anything, this camera knocks the shine off of the Burano for a third of the price, $8K vs $25K.
However, Sony can counter with the FX6 Mark II or FX9 Mark II in the next year, though, for a similar price point.

This is excellent news for the industry regardless.

Would you choose to rent a Canon C400 or a Sony Burano to shoot a narrative short film, if you base the decision off mostly image quality capabilities?

People always forget, that the C400 also has access to better lenses natively than the FX6 like the 24-105mm F2.8 and 100-500mm, while the FX6 already needs 3 lenses to cover this equally with a much less flexible Sigma 24-70 F2.8 (the Sony G-Master is not stabilized), then a 70-200mm and a 200-600 or drop the last 2 and get a 100-400 but have gap at the 70-100mm range, while still having overall inferior lenses.

This doesnt matter for people who have time while shooting, because they'll be using PL lenses anyway but for documentaries having to switch less, while still having the option to use fast aperture when its appropriate while also having stronger ND-Filters and more flexible ISO is golden. You could bring a magnetic 1 stop ND so that you can light any scene without going away from the native ISO or changing aperture in 1 stop increments by just sticking a little ring to you lens, which is incredibly quick to do. But its not necessary - just a possibilty to further enhance the workflow.

Of course you also get all the other advantages like a menu, that doesnt suck, 6K RAW, 16 stops dynamic range etc. etc.

This camera is as if you were to combine the Sony FX6 and Burano, a RED Komodo X a couple other features. For people who do both documentaries and stuff with more timeon their hands this is the ultimate camera, even with unlimited budget.

Hello, Canon EVF-V50 OLED Viewfinder Will this viewfinder fit the new Canon C400 camera and will it work? and the second question is, is it possible to fix the manfrotto pad directly to the bottom of this chamber? or do you need an additional platform separately?
