My autoimmune system got pissed off once and decided my blood platelets were the enemy. My socks and bra straps were bursting tiny blood vessels and leaving bruises. *Immune thrombocytopenic purpura* When they reaches 13, 000, my hematologist told me not to do anything…..including sneeze if I could help it. He didn’t want me bursting a blood vessel in my brain. Hashimoto’s, fibromyalgia, a couple others and counting. The worst part is that when you explain all of it to regular doctors, they tell you it’s either all in your head or that you’re fine. 😫

Me with SLE Lupus. “You have a strong overactive immune system. However it’s eating some of your organs.”

haha not me 5 years ago getting test after test at 21 being told I'm completely fine, even tho I felt horrible 24/7. Finally got diagnosed with graves disease and three months later having a thyroid storm and almost died. Likely would have if I hadn't gotten diagnosed/they wouldn't have known what to treat it with in time.

I have sickle cell disease.. Bka excruciating pain!!!! I'm currently finishing up the medical billing & coding program I'm in. Although I was discharged on December 1st. I was admitted on Thanksgiving. The hospitalists & nurses were so intrigued.

When I was little I had really bad allergies like it was so bad they had to put carpet all throughout my house so that like all the Dust and stuff wouldn’t pick up and we couldn’t have pets or anything in the house had to be deep cleaned every day and they also told my mom they had an auto immune disease but I already had a low immune system so it was all just fucked and then I also had really bad asthma so my whole childhood was trauma I was in the hospital a lot lol

I was told my autoimmune disease is what attacked my gallbladder and that was why I had to have it removed. Still wondering about this, still have pain on right side and all blood tests for liver just come back with elevated liver enzymes but no answer why. I now regret not getting a second opinion.

This is me lol. Never gotten the flu in my life, don’t get colds (I literally don’t and never have, don’t know what they’re like! Wild), luckily still haven’t contracted Covid either. I just don’t get sick. I have systemic Lupus though. And it almost killed me once (stable on Plaquenil only now - lucky as hell). Bizarre!

reminds me of when a doctor came into my room after I had a surgery to talk to me about how the surgery went and then told me that they discovered I have endometriosis. So then he said "It's a chronic disease, you can just look it up on google if you want to know what it is exactly"
