There’s a bluebird inside me but I dare not let him out because it will ruin my reputation. The poem was along those lines from memory. His other great poem was Born Into This. I’m an old Bukowski devotee from way back. Reading all Bukowski’s work within 6 months was one of the best times of my life. I couldn’t fathom how honest he was. To this day I have never read anyone who can express how I feel but can’t articulate. In a way I wished id never read his work and had it all in front of me.
