Lithuania Warns Russia 'Kaliningrad would be Neutralised First” As NATO-US Reject Troops For Ukraine

Lithuania’s ambassador to Sweden said Western countries will “neutralise” Russia’s exclave of Kaliningrad if Moscow seriously endangers NATO’s security. Linas Linkevicius, who previously served as Lithuania’s defence and foreign minister, fired the warning shot in a post on X, formerly Twitter. In his post, Linkevicius warned that “if Russia dares to challenge NATO, Kaliningrad would be “neutralised first”. According to Linkevicius, the Baltic Sea has become an "internal NATO sea" after Hungary approved Sweden's accession. Watch the video to find out.

Fun fact: during the cold war Kaliningrad was offered to Lithuania (then a member of the Sovietunion), but they refused, because the region was alredy settled by ethnic Russians. It was hardly more than a trap.

UPDATE: Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said that Kaliningrad will always remain an integral part of Russia. "Kaliningrad is a Russian region. It is on the Baltic Sea. And it will always be this way, " Peskov said, commenting on threats by Lithuanian Ambassador to Sweden Linas Linkevicius to "neutralize Kaliningrad."
Peskov said NATO's military infrastructure advancing toward Russian borders and the "belligerent rhetoric" of members of the alliance against Russia is a "cause for deep concern and grounds for taking additional measures to ensure our security."
