The DioField Chronicle is Actually INCREDIBLE!

Recently, Square Enix released a demo for their upcoming real-time strategy RPG The DioField Chronicle. And the game is actually incredible! In this video, I'll review the demo to give you a preview of what you can expect when The DioField Chronicle releases on September 20, 2022.

The demo is currently available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox and Switch.

I thought this would be a budget version of Fire Emblem at first glance but after playing the demo I am really impressed with the unique gameplay and production quality too.

The demo was far more enjoyable than I expected. It feels like a good Fire Emblem style deep Tactics RPG with Dragon Age 1 style pause/play combat. LOVE IT.

I freaking Love their artstyle it's so damn beautiful. It reminds me of Natural Doctrine a bit except it wasn't real time and you can hit your units if they're in the way xD also it's was so damn fking hard because you cant sit in a safe zone trying to strategize the perfect position to all gang up on an enemy because they'll also position really well to destroy you once you got close to them.

This feels like the advanced version of Battleheart gameplay in 3D and i really love those kind of gameplay and DioField seems perfect. Can't wait to see more!

Looks awesome! Reminds me of Dragon Age Origins. Before it pivoted to a faster pace combat. DAO combat was much slower, like Diofield.

I really love this game! One thing I feel they could add as a feature is sticky selection, where once I give a command, it doesn't deselect the hero that that I've already given a command unless I explicitly deselect them myself. They can also improve on the AI. Sometimes one of my heros kill an enemy and then they just sit there watching the rest off my heroes fight. I'd like for them to auto target any enemy that the rest my hero's are targeting if they are idle.

The first game that came to mind when I saw the combat system: Growlanser. That similarity alone has caught my interest.

ah sqaure enix they really love making games that should be turn based real time for some reason.

I've really been enjoying the demo. I was already anticipating this one, and the demo doesn't disappoint. The only thing I could see them improving is tightening up the controls a bit in every mode, and perhaps a little bit of work on the textures. Other than that, the game looks, feels, and plays great.

I played the demo and was instantly hooked! I haven't played a RTS this good since Final Fantasy Tactics

Thanks for this review! Downloading tonight. Diofield chronicles has a very mid-late 90s feel to it in my opinion and I'm not sure if that's what they were aiming for or if it really is considered budget but I'm excited for it. Also, British voice actors are so underrated. Triangle Strategy would've been twice as good if the voice actors were British lol.

I was already excited about the game before the demo, cause honestly we don't get many strategy Jrpg's on the ole Xbox. After that demo though... I cannot wait for this game to release. The summons had me all jazzed up an shit. Lol I do agree with the voice acting, I'm pretty sure it's good. 🤷‍♂️ i know it didnt stick out as bad and thats always good, and I didn't mind the way the game looked, I was pleased in that area. I even enjoyed the 3rd person sections of the game. I can't wait!

I loved this game, after playing the demo for 30 mins I decided to buy it and I’m glad I did. Excellent game, I wish square enix would put more time and resources into putting out more quality double A experiences like this

Really enjoy this demo, definitely getting the game soon once I finished with Triangle Strategy, Live-A-Live, and Star Ocean.

The combat feels like a mix of a western crpg and and something like Growlanser (highly recommended!)

I beat the game earlier this week, and overall I just felt it was....okay. I'm glad I got it and had a good time with itm as it filled the time well while waiting for Star Ocean: The Divine Force, but I feel like it could have been a lot better with a little more budget and time in the oven, so to speak.
