Salicylic acid cleanser changed my life. I followed Dr. Dray’s advice on using SA cleanser rather than SA serum. As a oily-combination skin and have acne since 12/13 (I’m in my 20s now), my skin can’t thank her enough.

Edit: I use SA cleanser once a day or every other day. Other times normal cleanser.

I overused my SA cleanser when used daily (peeling, dryness, stinging). However, I took a week break and now use 2-3 times max per week and my oily/acne prone skin tolerates that!

Thank you also for mentioning it’s suitable for darker skin tones.

I love Dr. Dray so much! I watch her videos and take notes like I’m in a class getting ready for a test. I’ve learned so much and will be forever grateful for her sharing her knowledge. Also, I appreciate that she never tries to sell us a product and let’s us know we don’t need all this expensive, complicated skin care.

I saw someone on instagram recommending to leave it on while you wash your body in the shower. Might be a little too harsh for people with sensitive/dry skin but may be good for acne prone people.

I use salicylic acid everyday. It improved my skin A LOT! ❤️

Personally, salicylic acid does *nothing* for my skin except make me break out worse. Benzoyl peroxide and adapalene have my back though.

Yasss, SA in cleanser is the only way I could use it. Anybody else have the same situation where if i use an SA leave-on, I would get breakouts that I would not otherwise have if I didn’t put it on.

I can't use a BHA cleanser twice daily.. It's too drying for my sensitive combo skin. I use it no more 3x a week and Preferribly in the evening

My skin can tolerate a salicylic acid cleanser twice a day. I used to only use it on the mornings but once I started using it at night too, my skin looked smoother and my pores smaller. Of course it doesn't stop my hormonal acne though.

I'm just glad my skincare choices are being validated here.

I love these shorts! Using Cerave SA cleanser now and seems to be helping.

I use a salicylic acid cleanser every night, followed by adapelene. I'm seeing all these people talking about the drying effect, but I'm glad my skin adapted so well

Salicylic acid cleansing has been a game changer for me- my hyperpigmentation started fading a lot faster when before using one I was only using a vit c serum.

Be careful with SA cleanser. It's still exfoliating and risks damaging your skin barrier. I started getting extreme breakouts after 1.5 months of using Cerave SA cleanser 2x daily. I would not recommend 2x daily SA cleansing for ANYONE. Stay hygienic with a gentle cleanser and focus on hydrating to protect your skin barrier. If you breakout immediately after using SA, your skin barrier is damaged and you need to focus on repair for a few weeks. Use it very sparingly ONLY when your skin barrier is strong.

Sadly, salicylic acid cleansers just make my face red. Specifically the zapzyt brand that Dr. Dray recommended :( It's so hard to find exfoliators for my sensitive skin. I am forever left with textured skin. :(

I have a sensitive combination skin (dry *and* oily). The L300 SA cleanser has been amazing! Not drying, but still effective.

I am using cerave SA cleanser.. Though I have dry skin with hormonal acne, the cleanser helps me to decrease the redness of my acne.. But it dries out my skin little bit. So I use Cerave moisturizer cream after that..
