"I can prove to all of us that 90% of our sons are not in the top 10%". That's quite a statement lol

It's all good. I'm in the 90%. In my mid 40s. Making nowhere even remotely close to that $212k. My vacations are non-extravagent and mostly non-existent. I don't have much. Learned not to want much. And don't need much but what I need.

I tell ya what tho? I'm living my best life enjoying the simple things in life. Wake up every morning with a smile on my face and ready to take on the day, no matter what the day brings.

Keep on rockin'! 🤘

He’s not wrong but I also wouldn’t trade places with the richest people I know.

Idk how rich they are exactly, but it’s “when we visit our other homes we usually fly commercial for ethical reasons but book a private plane when we travel when the dogs because they’re old and need extra care” rich.

Stability is absolutely important but there are a LOT of miserable rich people out here, so maintain a balance where you can

America has always been a nation where it's "Be the orca, not the seal."

It was like this when you were young and growing up - it's just intensifying and it will continue to do so.

Learn to separate yourself from the culture.
Your wants and desires were handed to you by a bad culture.
You're still focused on all the wrong things.
The American "rich" are depressed and medicated.
They outsource everything.

That's what I'm to teach my children to strive for?
The ability to outsource all their problems is the American dream?

There is no need to wonder why "the power of the dollar" is so important to American culture. As individuals, we outsource everything like a millionaire.

The American citizen expects himself to have enough liquidity to do everything the self desires.

Anything less is systemic oppression.

Being in top 10% in income makes you instantly 'better looking'. The other way is not true. If you are great looking by itself, that will not put you in a great 'quality of life' category nor will it make you a high income.

This thinking is very true in some industries or fields. In professional sports, you don't see many kids of former players whereas in other fields (medicine, finance, land developers), that isn't the case.

Other than taking care of your parents and loved ones, the rest are hollow victories, coming from someone who knows deep in my body how important money is: your happiness and quality of life can still be amazing making 50-60k in a medium cost area. You don’t need a white picket fence or millions in the bank to breathe happy, you can still have it all and not suffer.

Scott Galloway was the last of the Boomer generation. He lived the life of when there was an unstated social contract between the owner class and the proletariats, when you had a fair shot to do better than your parents. That all changed, i believe, in 2008, after Wall Street wrecked the WW economy. Furthermore, the decades of rigging Washington and our legal/ tax system to the absolute benefit of the top 10% has finally given the elite oligarchs what they always wanted. More for them, no tax burden, no regulations or environmental responsibility, and to consolidate. Ore and more power and influence.
The robber barons of yesteryear didnt have it this good. And lets not forget the ability of 24/7/365 monitoring of the Serfs via IP addresses and individual data collection and tracking. Truly dystopian times we are living in.

Masculinity and feminity have something in common.

Both is about doing, not talking about it.
As you start moving and doing it, you intuitivelly know how.

As you start making a plan its so complicated that you confuse yourself.
because no plan is perfect.

Wrong. America is about maximizing shareholder value. Most governments in the world enact policies to benefit their citizens. Americans have no idea what that looks like. For the last 50 years it has been a constant drumbeat of policies that benefit the rich.

America shouldn’t be about a 10% life of extravagancy. It should be about making the top 80% comfortable enough to live the American Dream. Own a home, raise a family, pay for education and health care, and save for a modest retirement.

The social contract has been dead for many years, hence the chances and opportunities are gone. This sadly is the new world, were we work for virtually nothing all our lives, you only retire then your forced too by ill health. After sure you starve or freeze to death in your rented home or end up in the street.
