I think steph’s role on team usa is completely different from his role on the warriors. In these olympics, he’s spacing the floor out, allowing the other stars on his team to go to work, rather than him having the ball all the time and being THE guy. To be fair, Steph dont need to be going all out. This is not the Warriors that if he doesnt do that. Warriors in trouble. Team USA is a bunch of all stars. Just by him being outthere creates a lot of pressures cause now they have to double team him which opens up space for other guys to be open

Apart from the extra punch that KD provided them and everyone shooting lights out. Embiid not playing AT ALL this game is A HUGE REASON WHY.

AD starting and Bam coming off the bench bolstered the team's defense. The easy drives and open threes Embiid was allowing in their previous match up just wasn't there anymore. AD and Bam both playing together for the 2nd unit was limiting both of them. But with the two of them playing the role that they were comfortable doing, their effectiveness and productivity rose by a long shot.

If they keep Embiid on the bench, they will definitely go undefeated. But knowing how Stever Kerr makes questionable and straight up stupid coaching decisions, i can already imagine him letting Embiid START the next game or future games and its gonna cost them.
