He is the lion of the jungle.. Neither the fastest.. Or the tallest.. Or the biggest... But he is still the king... 😊😊 Long live the king... Well deserved victory..

Just as we thought Federer would close out the match in the 4th set, he loses his serve twice and Cilic pulls through. And with momentum and confidence going for him entering the 5th, was pretty sure Cilic was going to win. Federer had other plans, he elevated his game to another level and gave his opponent little chance. That's what makes him the greatest. He's able to elevate, adapt his game and play with uncanny coolness under adversity and extreme pressure. Remarkable.

Roger Federer is the quintessential example of the sport and tradition of tennis. He lets his game speak for himself, and shows a true love for the game whether he's on the winning-side or not. It amazes me that he told his parents at the age of 12 he was leaving to go to a tennis academy to pursue his dream. These achievements we see here in the modern day were formed in his mind many years ago. Imagine being young and dreaming of breaking records in the sport, like total Major Wins, or even personal goals like serving 4-5 aces in a row, etc.

Determined to be the best whether he is currently at that level or not.

1:54 Picks up like that should tell you how talented this guy is. He was falling backwards all the while too. Insane volley, one of the very few good forehands he hit today.

Awkward moment : When Fed was going for handshakes but it’s a challenge from Cilic 😅

Cilic pulled off the Houdini trick in the 4th set, winning 5 straight games, just like Federer did last year against Nadal in the 5th set.

But no matter how good of a magician you are, The Great Wizard of Basel will always be a step ahead of you.

End of an Era. Thank you Maéstro, a.k.a. Roger Federer for all the memories. It was an honour witnessing your grace, elegance, flamboyance. There will never be another athlete, another Champion, another #Legend like you. You are simply the very You made us all fall in love with this sport. You made us believe that no matter how hard life knocks us down, we must never give up and keep Believeing. It was a privilege watching you, right from my childhood days, almost 2 decades ago till now. You are an icon in not only tennis, but also the Sporting Universe as a whole. We all realise what you had to go through the past 3 years with 3 back to back arthroscopic surgeries on the knee. The only thing I am happy about now is that you will be relieved of the physical stress that a tennis athlete has to endure in order to play at the highest level. Needless to say that it breaks my heart to even imagine that you will never be seen again in the ATP Circuit after next week. 💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔Tennis will never be the same again without you, Rog! This is the saddest day of Tennis till now. 🙏🏻💔 You revolutionized the sport in astronomical proportions Roger.
