Nice clean off the drive disc afterwards with brake cleaner. it will start to slip with the lithium grease on there.

You have to cover the friction disc before spraying. Otherwise slipping will occur

Covering your drivers disc plate is a better idea witan paper towel then take a rag as d put so carb cleaner on it and clean off the excess grease will keep it from slipping on the auger disc.

Is it ok to tip it over like this? Wont the gas and oil spill out of the caps?

Meanwhile I haven’t done a lick of maintenance on my Simplicity I bought new 10 years ago.😂
Still runs great oddly enough. I run it dry every season with a little fuel stabilizer and she cranks right up the following season. I should change the oil though….

When I'm done spraying the grease I wipe off the friction with a little bit of brake cleaner

Spraying that grease without covering the drive plate is a bad idea.

The video is misleading because the grease he sprayed on the friction wheel will will not allow the drive System to propel the is snow blower forward and reverse. As others have commented, The last part of the job is to use a metal cleaner and a Clean rag to wipe the friction disc completely clean and free of any lubricants whatsoevereal. But the narrator of the video is correct in that The gears and the hex shaft should be lubricated. But, importantly the last part of the job is to clean the friction disc So that It is free of any lubricants on the surface of it whatsoever.

The gears don't need grease just the. Hex shaft why grease a coated gear that is open air also dynamic cut teeth if a gear is not high load, speed,and kept clean there is no need for grease reason why when you get it has none on it do you think these engineers don't know what there doing 🤔 it's a friction system if they wanted grease on it would be sealed away from the friction disk . Don't use grease at all use 3 in one or 30 weight engine oil on a rag so not to have fling off onto your friction disc . Why would we not want grease or oil on our FRICTION DISC
