You are one sharp dude to put the wings behind the bow tie.

I must say that the Blowers ad that played before this was probably the first ever youtube ad I have ever watched through in its entirety :) [insert witty Blowers quote here]

Behind the bow tie is the preferred option. Especially with today's wing collar tuxedo shirts.

Loved this and very informative...I just wish it didn't feature a clip-on as an actual bow tie.

If you look at old Jazz Age photos, you'll see the collar is actually high enough for the wingtips to rest on top of the bowtie. Tucking them back is a new fashion, as is a pre-tied bowtie.

The wing never stays "tucked" however

When at Lanvin on rue St. Honoree in the 80's, the manager brought out a winged collared tux shirt with tie designed so the "wings" of the collar could not be placed behind the bows of the tie.

They called it their "educate the American's shirt" to be sold to those who had insufficient "class" to know the purpose for which winged collars were designed...and how to wear them.

Tucking the wings seems to be a new-age American thing which will create wry laughter when presenting ones self in such a manner in Europe where sartorial elegance is practised properly.

God you're insane. I think that the sole purpose of wing collar being invented was to make it look being flown out to the front above the bow. Whats the meaning of letting them stick to your throat behind the bow ?

but NOT with a pretied bowtie... uuggghhhh you need to tie it

Unfortunately the title has nothing to do with the content. There is no tuxedo in this video. And even more: Who cares for "How to Wear a Bow Tie & Winged Collar" when you would wear such a trash outfit in white with a blue bow tie? This is absolutely without any style, this is really for people who do not know how to dress. I cannot think of any occasion where I would wear this, not even for fun on a beach. This is a clown-outfit.

I've watched 3 ehow videos on this subject. And, I'm really not going to take style advice from adult men who dress like circus clowns.
