In the second round of THE PLAYERS Championship 2025, Jordan Spieth was forced to hit his second shot left-handed from the pine straw at the par-4 5th hole. After successfully escaping, he was able to limit the damage and save a bogey on the hole.
The PGA TOUR heads to Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida this week for the THE PLAYERS Championship at TPC Sawgrass. Defending champion and World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler returns to THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass looking to extend his legacy and become the first golfer to three-peat at THE PLAYERS. World No. 2 Rory McIlroy is hoping to recreate some magic at in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. McIlroy, winner of this year’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, captured the THE PLAYERS in 2019, but has had a bit of a mixed bag at TPC Sawgrass since then. With over 75 yards added, THE PLAYERS will be decided over the 7,352 yards that THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass has to offer. Alongside last week's Arnold Palmer Invitational winner Russell Henley, other notable players in the field include Xander Schauffele, Ludvig Åberg, Hideki Matsuyama, Justin Thomas and Rickie Fowler with a total of 48 of the world’s top 50 playing in this year's event.
