I'm not in line with Tom a lot, but he's not wrong with Ready Set Bet. It wouldn't be my number one, but it brings me out of my heavy-euro shell and is fun every single time you play it. I think it also makes sense that all three of these guys have a "lighter" game as their number one. They play many games that it must feel like like a breath of fresh air when a less complex game has that 10/10 fun factor with high replayability, lower set-up time, meaningful choices, and a high success rate when teaching it to new players.

My husband and I are OBSESSED with Ark Nova. Today I thought I was close to winning, so I slowed down my gameplay because I wanted the game to last longer and my husband ended up winning. I just kept wanting to play. How crazy is that?? Also, I am a very competitive person. I love love love it. Thanks for all your hard work guys! Very much appreciated!❤

I've been catching up on these whilst playing Final Girl, so was super excited to hear its now Mike's No.7. Especially since I was first persuaded to play it when Mike talked about it in a previous year's top 100

I love Mind MGMT. It shot straight to my no 1 spot. Being able to play it purely cooperative, with the App as Mind MGMT, makes it a good couples game, which increases play time significantly.

I had non-boardgame friends invite me to a daytime New Year’s Eve pajama “mimosas and boardgame” party. They asked everyone to bring a game and I brought my new copy of Ready Set Bet, which I had just unwrapped… that is all we played. Of the 8 people, only 1 had played “heavy board games” before (catan 😂), but all of them were obsessed with RSB from the outset. I ran the horses and played the first round without the VIP or prop bets, but after each round they asked for more complexity and by the end of the fourth round we were playing the full game and everyone was sweating, stressed, and having an amazing time. RSB isn’t Ark Nova, Scythe, or Twilight Imperium (obviously), but it is an amazing game that can transition anyone from Monopoly and Battleship to new, somewhat complex board games in about 30 min. Completely agree with Tom, and I’m just glad I got my copy before they sell out nationwide. Thanks dice tower, still the best after over a decade!!
