Didn't know that, very interesting. Makes a lot of sense why house Tyrell would mary the Lord Paramount of the Reach to Olenna Redwyne, a strong navy and even more riches. This is why the ASOIAF universe is so great, George R.R. Martin really thought about every single house's place and funcion in the world.

The leader of House Redwyne is also a close friend to Mace Tyrel, as mentionned in A clash of Kings. Olenna Tyrel was also a Redwyne before marrying to Mace Tyrel. The Redwyne were one of the few houses of the Reach which didn't join the Tyrel-Baratheon alliance after the mariage of Renly and Margery, and instead declared to be neutral, because both male heirs of house Redwyne had been in Kings Landing when Robert died, and were taken as hostages by Cercei to prevent them to join forces with the Tyrel army. One of them was freed after the death of Renly in order to buy the loyalty of house Redwyne and make them support the proposal of a mariage between Joffrey and Margery, since they had close relationship with Mace and could convince him.

All in all this house is probably the 2nd most important of the Reach after the Tyrels and before the Tarly

200 Ships always seems a bit unrealistic to me. You probably need at least 100 men for each ship, giving the Redwynes 20000 men alone. This would make them insanely powerful. And we would talking about 40000 men if we raise this number to 200. There are probably only 20-50 really large ships and the rest are most likely smaller vessels.
