1968 - Turned 17 in April, graduated high school in July, enlisted in the Marine Corps in November, discharged in 71 and wandered the world for the next 50+ years, always accompanied by tunes.
Aged and worn down now but have been places, met people, seen and done things other folks only watch on TV. Finest

19 years old in 68. Just spent the summer on active duty as a corporal at Petawawa and came home and met a cute 17 year old young lady who became my wife 4 years later. Still together after all these years. The best days of my life followed and this great music just makes me realise how lucky I have been.

I was 16 in 1968, I saw Hendrix at the Hollywood Bowl at 17. Got drafted for Vietnam at 20 years old. Wouldn’t change my experience for anything, what a time to be growing up with such great music.

I was 18 and we were protesting the Vietnam War. Friends being drafted by lottery! Hope your number isn't pulled out of the hat! Iron Butterfly played at a big hall at Michigan State. We danced our feet off! I love the heavy rock and the anti war music. They gave a message. Thanks for this. Peace and Love.

Everybody commenting on here knows this is the best music ever played. I had a discussion with my daughter in law about Woodstock and how it was the biggest music event ever. She disagreed with me. Bonnaroo was just as big. Nothing will be remembered like this music was. The music, the free love society, and the war in combination makes this unforgettable unlike Bonnaroo. Also we googled the final amount of people that went to Woodstock. Unlike Bonnaroo there were 1 million. So... who is unforgettable now? Also like each and every one if you...if someone came to you and said they could add 25 years to your life but you wouldn't have any recollection of this Era and music, what what you do? I would tell them to keep their 25. I am proud to have been a part of it all.

I´m 70...and all this musc helped me throegh hard times. Maybe it was the best time for these outstanding music, but is wasn`tt the best time to grew up.It also were the times, where we had to fight unnecessary fights with parents, teachers and the whole world. Remebering these times as the best of our life, it`s just a lie. I don`t have a smart looking back...

I was 14 and full of hope for the future, so happy and content in the belief the world was wonderful, all of that had disappeared by the next year.

I was just talking to my health provider about these times and began to cry with the soldier caskets by the dozens each day brought home from Vietnam. When the Hippie generation's voice became the backbone to ending war, hate among blacks and whites was not present, and free love, A time of Motown and Rock and Roll. A time this world will never see again. United we stood, unlike today with division as we fall as the Super Power of the World. A great country the world wanted to become part of guided by schools' Pledge of Allegiance to our flag with our hands on our hearts as we stood with honor. To follow this with Our Father who art in Heaven. Trump said let's make this country again, I wanna believe, but I'm afraid it's too late, and soon God will turn His back on us.

This was the first year I started buying records with lawn mowing money and the like. Fortunately, my parents bought a few things for me too. I'm 69 now and while nowadays I enjoy music from every decade of recorded music, the late '60s and early '70s are my go-to for the most enjoyable classic music. And lots of good memories go with the music.

I was only 15...nearly 16. What a fabulous year from a great decade. And 55 years later both Beatles & Stones are in the charts!
