This is a demonstration video how a Compustar Security and Remote Start system is installed by a professional.

This video just demonstrates how involved it is to install a remote and/or security system on a modern car. You should always have a professional complete these types of tasks, it's worth the money.

And as you can see, if done properly you'll have seamless operation and a very clean interior (as if there was no installation performed at all).

Just bought Ma the CS800-s one way for Her 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan and bought the ignition bypass(data link) module with it. I'm just a 32 year heavy truck mechanic but have installed dozens of "Bulldog" starter systems in both gas and diesel vehicles. As a few have suggested, do some research. I choose the CS800 and the security bi pass module because it did not need (exterior-on line) programming. Granted, when it arrived it looked a bit intimidating compared to other systems I have installed but once I figured out what "With data link" or "without" meant (Confusing instructions). It just became a basic install. Unlike some Nissan and Toyota's, Dodge does not require the CS800 "door lock/unlock" feature to be installed making it even easier because the factory remote will still unlock the doors after start up unlike some of the latter. I like it. I would recommend this system "BUT" if Your not really familiar with electrical install and not confident, this is not the system for DIY.

I am glad someone thinks so.
May God bless you, brother...

You should bring it to a reputable install shop in your area. They might have to reprogram the remotes or check all the ignition lines to make sure the unit is getting power. Did your battery die in your vehicle and did you get a jump or replace the battery of the car?

On avg, 150-300 labour. I've done over $1, 000 labour alone easy, but that's with all the bells and whistles (i.e. Smart Start/ Drone, Proximity sensor, window roll up/ down and the list goes on). It all depends on what you want done.

I have this exact Alarm system with pager. I had tech leave out the siren and car horn activates. Pager has 1, 500 feet range. I recommend it. Compustar is good.

Yes you will. Also the install shop will need to find out if you have an 80 bit or 40 bit key, with the new firmware it shouldn't matter though. They'll also need to bypass the clutch switch only during the remote start sequence (usually done with a relay). So when you use the key to start you push the clutch in still, but when you remote start the vehicle it won't need to be depressed.

Have one of these systems on my civic. They are loud AF & can be annoying if you work on them in your garage. If they go off by accident in a garage you're going to be hearing aids! Now, they'll def deter a crimainl breaking in cause you can easily hear the sound from a block & half away in the dead of night.

Can I use compustar to change my car from regular key to "push to start"? Essentially go from having an old fashioned key to having a key fob

Not really. Unless you put a switch on the main power lines. I've never seen anyone do that though. It shouldn't be drawing that much when sitting though. How old is the battery in the car and does it get a good amount of highway driving? I would suggest putting a trickle charger on it, if it's sitting for extended periods of time.

Thank you for this video. I ordered it. Hopefully the bestbuy installer doesn't chop up my 2016 odyssey. I doubt most techs are as good as you.

I had the same alarm installed... but the installer didn’t install the siren...just the horn to honk only. If I order a siren will it just plug in the module? If so I’ll just do it

i purchased an 2012 tundra with a compustar remote start already on it. im looking to upgrade the remote. two questions:
A - do i need to access the 'brain'
B - where the hell is the brain generally located. i cant find it anywhere! i traced the antenna down twoards the driver side but lost it in the pillar (the replacement remote i bought comes with all kinds of wires, but it says i dont need them to program it if i have the correct module, just no clue where its at!

any advice would be appreciated! long time fan!
