Micro Skiff build update. Building the ultimate micro skiff!

Progressing nicely. Definitely have learned a lot from this little boat so far. If there is another one, I will be making it so much better. But for now, the micro skiff is looking good and seems to be coming close to that 100lbs build goal. So far the biggest regrets are not coring out the hull, and not using divinycell for the deck...

I am thinking about making this boat available as a kit... as in you glue all the foam pieces together and build it yourself... what do you all think?

The design looks great! It's clean and simple. On my build, I probably over-engineered it a bit. As a result, it has taken far more time to finish than I anticipated. My goal was to build a shallow drafting boat for inshore fisihing that would be relatively light but able to handle any rough water I might encounter. I want to take it down to the Texas gulf coastal area between Freeport and Port Lavaca, but also hope to be moving to Florida when I retire where I plan to fish the inshore waters on the Atlantic side between Saint Augustine and Ponce Inlet. Nice Job on your build!

Did you just put glass over the Stuyrofoam ? Or used the foam as a mold to make a only fiberglass hull

I think it looks great.
I think there are a lot of different ways you can reduce the weight in future builds.
I'm, at the moment designing a sciff that I'm still struggling with deciding whether to use composite materials with styrofoam or both.
But I think you have done a great job.
