I remember when I first started watched this scene. It was in March when the lockdown first began. I was down about everything being shut down and some stuff I was looking forward to being canceled. Then on the weekend my dad showed me this movie. I never knew anything about the Civil War before. Then I saw this scene and I was blown away. This song and opening told me everything I needed to know about the depth of brotherhood in the scene. I never knew there could be such a story so beautiful and terrible as the American Civil War. And it all started with this opening.

This movie and Gettysburg are my favorite Civil War movies. Glory is really good as well but these two have something special about them. Not sure if another movie could capture the feeling that these did if they redid Gettysburg or Gods &Generals. Jeff Daniels is fantastic and the actors for Stonewall and Lee are amazing.
