Miter Saw Station Storage Boxes and Drawer Fronts - 196

This week I finished up my miter saw station. The drawer fronts were added and I made a bunch of Redwings drawer pulls. On top of the miter saw station is a long array of quick access storage boxes for stuff that gets used a lot. There are a few things I would like to add to the miter saw station such as a stop block setup to the left of the blade but those will come in time. For now, I'm just glad I'm able to put the miter saw station to good use.

My apologies for taking so long to thumbs up this video. I built this maybe 2 months after watching you build it. It changed my perception of woodworking (along with many nights binge watching Diresta). I have to say, the scene at the end of the last video, where you open the drawer you are inside of, is as iconic to us in this community as ET's glowing finger. Even if Clagett hits a billion subs, I won't ever remember building an epoxy river table; but, I'll never forget building my first Bates Miter Station, or, the gates, doors, cabinets, workbenches, cutting boards, bottle openers, outfeed tables, shelf supports, chisel holders, table saw sleds, coffee tables, chairs, vice pads, dust collection system fittings, shims, planter boxes, and god knows what else it helped me build. Thank you and know we all appreciate your contributions and always will.

Tons of space and functionality in a fairly compact unit. Nicely done and happy 100K!

That's a bad ass mitre saw station, and very multi purposed too. The drawer pulls are great. Very creative way to combine two things you enjoy.

I like how you have the fire extinguisher right out in plain sight and easy to get at. Awesome project!!

This is a really impressive design and execution. Great solution for garage shops and keeps the dust out. I never like drawers because stuff gets lost, but you've got me rethinking that now. Thanks for sharing!

That was already a great looking build but then you really out did yourself with those redwing drawer handles!!! Great job!

That is one serious workstation, Jay Bates !! Well designed and executed. That's gotta feel super awesome to call it yours.

Gotta tell you Jay, superbly done.

I really like 3/4 plywood cabinets!

I have been waiting for Ron Paulk, who has some fantastic ideas too, to come up with a shop type cabinet system and here you are.

I've been looking for exactly what you've done here and now will wait for you to knock out those plans and cut lists.

Keep up the great work.

Best.

Gives me a lot of ideas for my miter saw and radial arm saw station. That thing has tons of storage and is a beast. Nice touch with the drawer pulls.

Just bought a 12" sliding Bosch miter saw. I'm salivating at the the idea of your bench in my shop. Thanks for the mental "push". (I'm from Kalamazoo so go Red Wings!)

Awesome, Jay. I'll bet the shop is really becoming well organized with all that storage.

Not a huge sports fan, however I love that you added something to your project that you're passionate about. It's these personal touches that separate good projects from the great ones! Love your content, keep the good work.

Jay, you keep out doing yourself. I love these video's as they keep helping many of us who struggle look like we actually know what we are doing. Funny thing is, all of my project's that I take on turn out looking pretty good! Thank you for all you do for all of us!

Jay, I'm using this comments section to compliment Craig Parson on his beautiful rendition of your Mitre Saw Station. The website comments section is too complicated to get a word inserted, so I'm doing it here. I was impressed with the amount of other tools and drawers he could include by modifying your plans to suit his situation. The hanging-file cabinet for manuals and plans made a lot of sense too. Great project.

Bravo Jay. I really appreciate the work you put into this build and your willingness to share a bit about the process. It will be MASSIVE for me when I endeavor to build something similar and I will be buying the plans to reference my own custom miter/storage wall.

Looks great. Love the idea of keeping the grain matching. Makes me want to skip work and go start on one in my shop. Thanks for all your videos, very helpful and informative.
