The day after Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary was suspended from the Lok Sabha, team I.N.D.I.A. MPs boycotted the proceedings in the lower house on the final day of the monsoon session. Opposition MPs marched towards Ambedkar's statue on the parliament premises and staged a protest. The leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, said that the government wants to suppress democracy and is not allowing it to function as per the constitution.
