More Than Concrete Blocks: Reflecting on the wins and losses in Dublin’s 20th century architectural history.

In this event, Ellen Rowley and Carole Pollard will draw out the links between Dublin’s buildings and Dublin’s political, social, cultural and economic histories.

By focusing on architecture as the central thread in the story of the city in formation, 1900–2000, both historians will discuss and illustrate the relationship between architecture, housing and people in Dublin City.

Ellen Rowley is an architectural humanities teacher and writer on twentieth-century Irish architecture. She is Lecturer in Modern Irish Architecture in UCD’s School of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy.

Carole Pollard is an architect and architectural historian and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI).

Thank You both for a brilliant talk. Could have listened to you both forever. Looking forward to the 3rd installment and Carole's work on Andy Devane.
