It's absolutely bonkers how Indigo is able to sing live. She always sounds on the ragged edge of being in control.

I finally articulated to a friend why Indigo sounds so different from everyone else. Other singer-songwriters write songs and sing them. You can hear the normal structures, this bridge there, that chord here. With Indigo it’s like she’s unzipped herself and these songs are what escape. Sometimes it’s like she’s flayed herself.

Other artists construct songs. Indigo frees them.

I caught the last song at an Indigo de Souza concert at a Festival, didn't know her work. Got absolutely smacked in the face with Real Pain, had to fight the tears. This KEXP live is very close to that performance, beautiful.

I saw her this night at Neumos in Seattle and the show was INSANE. Everyone is an amazing musician and so engaging
