Push Rod Suspension Design on Bowhead Rogue LS Explained | Tech Talk
Показать описание
Here we are looking at the NEW Bowhead Rogue LS.
If we spin around to the back of the bike here, we’ll see the all new push rod suspension system.
We’re using a double wishbone as well as push rod which connects the motion of the wheel through a rocker into the air shock.
As the wheel moves through its travel the push rod pushes on the rocker then compresses the shock.
For our double wishbone control arms. We’re using uneven and unparallel arms so the upper control arm is shorter than lower control arm and they both converge in towards the centre of the bike. This allows us to maintain a negative camber on the wheels which ensures the best traction.
The goal of suspension is to keep the wheels tracking the ground over rough terrain whilst keeping the rider as stable as possible.
This is best achieved through independent suspension. So each wheel is capable of moving on it’s own.
Now push rod suspension systems are a very tried and tested platform. Inspired by F1. So we’ve taken some of the key principles and applied them to our adaptive MTB. This all adds up to a comfortable and fun riding characteristic and ensures greater experiences accessing the outdoors.
