Having lost the use of my left hand after a stroke the one handed opener from Amazon was a Godsend! Love it.

I think a lot of them start out ok, but they dull quickly so I'd be interested to see how long they last rather than how well they open right out of the box.

I’ve had the same smooth edge can opener in my house for almost 20 years. It’s a traditional style and still works perfectly. I think that’s the best part of them, because they don’t cut they just release the glue on the seal; the parts don’t wear down like the blade can. I can recommend

An ax is slightly messier, but a lot more fun.

This is actually an issue for me as a left-handed person with arthritis in my hands. Thanks for the reviews!

Maybe its just me but I'd pay good money for a good can opener. A can opener that struggles to open cans piss me off so much. It's just so frustrating

The smooth edge ones are nice for products you won't use all of at once. The lid goes back on and you can put it in the fridge. Also safer for kids and also doesn't cut a trash bag open once you throw it away.

I bought a Swing-A-Way for around $7 in the late 90s and it's hands down the best can opener I've ever used. Still going strong.

I have my smooth edge can opener from the dollar store (it was 2 bucks). I use it for about ten years now and it still works amazing.

It's interesting that there are people out there that dislike smooth edge can openers over the regular ones. Like why would you want a sharp metal edge with cutting hazard and metal splints in your food if you could also decide to have a clean opened can? I don't understand.

I can't believe I'm watching a can opener video at 5am.

parents bought a swing a way can opener 35 years ago for about a buck and it still works! even with the rust in some of its parts, truly a high quality product that lasts and doesn't even costs that much. tried some new ones over the years but they never were a keeper and some of them broke within a few weeks.

All soft edge opener all the way, for my house. Even put on in the Car bug-out-bag, and Camping gear. I got a battery powered one for the kitchen - Making chili (9 cans) the battery power saves time. DO other prep while the cans are being opened. :D
Great review - I've been through a few different models to find good one. I'm going to check out that $35 job!

I've had a smooth edge Rosle can opener for about 20 years now and it works the same as when I bought it. One of the best kitchen item I have.

You’re like the guy from the math problems buying weird numbers of can openers and green chilis

First of all, you get can bits with regular can openers. The side opener I have is the Kuhn Rikon side opener. It's great. It also is a pop top opener, soda or water top opener, beer bottle type opener & lid opener. You don't have to expend extra strength just to open anything. I purchased mine from QVC. Best investment ever. Plus my hands don't hurt when using it.

I use a motorized one touch can opener from Black & Decker. It was purchased in 1995 and still works pretty great.

There is such an eloquence to your videos that's really hard to describe. So in depth but so simple. So laid back but very involved. Such great content man. Always.
