Interestingly, in the section of the film where many people are shaking their arms and singing in the square, there is a man who does not wear the badge of the Workers’ Party of Korea and wears a blue shirt. His name is Ai Yuejin. He is a Chinese and he was in North Korea at the time. Visit, that was in 2014. He pursues political equality and cultural conservatism. However, due to North Korea's arrangements, he could only follow the established route. He saw the lively scene in the square, because this kind of scene is also very common in China, but unlike North Korea, Chinese people dancing in the square now are usually business activities, or the elderly are exercising. The last time the Chinese danced for leaders It was in 1966. Ai Yuejin found it very lively, so he joined them and took pictures with his mobile phone. After returning to China, Ai Yuejin said that North Korea is a socialist country in terms of culture and social features. But he didn't know that at the same time, a Russian director was documenting the painful story of a little girl.

Very risky business considering that this could have been his last work. The producer is lucky he wasn't detained at the airport. I can only applaud his dedication and courage while waiting to see the film.

I have just know watched the Under the Sun documentary, and boy the last 10 minutes had me balling my eyes out. An utterly depressing insight of the state of NK where children like Zin- Mi have their childhood taken away from them, under the regime, in the name of patriotism. Very very powerful.

I just watched the full "documentary". Well, let me tell you how it ends.

The little girl is crying, trying to hide it and the director ask his own translator (a russian woman) to calm the girl down, and she (the translator) tells the girl to think of something good. To that, the child responds with - I don`t know what.

Then they ask her if she can sing or recite something cheerful and she does by reciting the official North Korean doctrine, praising the glorious leader ...

That is the state of North Korea - a place where people are born, live and die in a nightmare while the nations of the world stand aside, happy that they don`t have to witness the horror of a nation.
