Very well delivered. The format is succinct and easy to follow. The Strength Based Practice (SBP) is a major point of focus in the way social workers in the UK are currently encouraged to operate and deliver services. It is all about working closely with the client to help to identify his / her strengths, wishes, and outcomes. It encourages empowerment, independence, and autonomy of the individual. The SBA can also be seen as an exercise which can help cash strapped local authorities in the UK to protect and save their finite resources. However to follow through the principles of the SBA successfully may require time and patience. I suppose the dilemma
is how to balance this commendable theory with the realities of overstretched, extremely fast paced, under resourced services in which complex and unmanageable case loads is the norm.
