This must be the earlier recording that preceded the hit version. All I know is that The duo did this song for A SONG FOR YOU. Then Lynn Anderson recorded a version that became a HUGE country hit. The Carpenters then rerecorded "Top Of The World" for Their Greatest Hits 1969-'73 and THAT was the hit version.
