2020 GT500 Carbon Fiber Track Pack: 1/4 Mile Drag Race

Here at Steeda, we are super excited to have a 2020 Shelby GT500 equipped with the Carbon Fiber Track Package for research and development! We took the car down the quarter-mile at South Georgia Motorsports Park to get a solid baseline before we really start throwing some parts at this vehicle. We were pleased to see, even with all the additional aero, that the car ran a 10.73 @ 132.9 MPH, with a 1.74 60-foot!

Have seen as quick as 10.56 from a stock 2020 (non track pack). Palm Beach Dyno just ran 9.73 in a modded car. Will be interesting to see how the battle goes between shops for the bragging rights for the quickest and fastest car. The new GT500 is an amazing car.

I personally would love to see a Steeda 2020 mustang gt that can perform just as fast as a 2020 gt500 on road corse as well as drag strip.

I want see bolt on part and drag racer every time for seeing the difference. You could start with a cold air intake (ram air), 160 degres thermostat, throttle body spacer, bigger intercooler, colder spark plug, accel coil, cat back exhaust and SCT-X4 programmer for boosting PSI on the supercharger :)

It was design to do both good but nothing great and that’s what you got 10.7 was your best time and the camaro which is old can run with it on the track

Off the wall question. I see everyone using the launch control on these car and I hear the drop in rpm off the line. Have or sis you guys try to launch the car off foot brake to see if there was a difference in 60ft time?

Curious what your thoughts were on the launch control delay at the drag strip. Is that something you could learn to time with the lights when to take your foot off the brake or would that be darn near impossible. Its the only thing I see holding that car back overall is the 60ft. because of the lag in the launch control before it dumps the clutch. I'm sure the aftermarket once it gets access to the trans will be able to tune that out of the car...thanks.
