Mister Sandman, in the legendary instrumental version by Chet Atkins. This is by far one of the most recognisable melodies of the early days of pop music, and in this first part we look at the first verse. Don't be scared away by those big stretches in the intro, there is an alternative!

For anyone stuck on 54:08, can be played exactly the same 5 frets down on the higher strings, using open D and A for bass

I find that first stretch easier than the second. I'm lucky to have long fingers. I also find playing with my thumb over the top a lot easier than bar chords because I'm 'cursed' with double jointed thumbs which makes bar chords very painful.
