Excellent Video, my son was born with CAH diagnosis at birth and now on regular therapy every 8hrs, but fortunately no symptoms at all so far. He is very normal except at times he gets very nervous and sleep very late. When the dosage was reduced, seems all normal now. He is only 3yrs now. We actually had to be done a DNA testing and we both were carriers. A case of 1 in 16000 just got us.

Simple explanation of a complex disease. I have the gene as did my mate. My daughter has SWCAH and is turning 48 next month. She has escaped death so many times. Too many do not take this seriously. They think oh just a hormone imbalance, no its much much more and is indeed life threatening at times. Argued with many an ER doc. Drs...nurses..when you come across a rare disease know we never expect you to know all about every disease but we expect and need you to rely on us as the advisor both in treatment and in referrals to our docs for guidance.

I was screened when I was born for it and somehow I passed but I did have it. My mom took me for a monthly check-up and the doctor was like it is probably nothing but get her checked. My mom said if she could do it he next day. It being potentially life-threatening my doctor said no do it now. It turns out somehow I lived a month with out any knowing that I had it. It is a miracle that I'm alive.

I could be wrong, but I believe hyperplasia is a growth in the number of cells and hypertrophy is a growth in the size of cells. Hope my suggestion helps make the video more accurate!
