The Rock as Maui in live-action Moana

The Rock is starring as the demi-god Maui in a live-action version of Moana. A lot of people are interested in how this movie is going to translate from the animated version, but also, what The Rock/Dwayne Johnson is going to look like.

The Rock is known for getting jacked for his movies, but Maui, while big, has more of a soft cuddlier physique.

However a big clue is that a lot of inspiration for Maui was taken from Dwayne Johnson's late grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia. He was a big, strong wrestler, with the trademark thick curly hair... so perhaps he will adopt a similar look and physique to his grandfather in the movie.

Forget Live Action Moana… I want to see a prequel called “ Maui”. The back story about his parents dropping him into the sea, The big Crab he ripped the arm off of, him getting his Hook, him pulling up the islands from the sea. Him stealing the Heart and being banished. It’s all there.. bring it on!!

This is the rock we're talking about. He isnt going to change a thing, he's just going to play himself again. Remember black Adam? He was just the rock in black spandex. He didn't try to look like adam beyond clothes.

I don't dislike or hate the rock, I'm just of the opinion that he puts little efforts in his roles now, leave it to someone that'll do justice to it.
