Torsten is actually my nephew. What you saw in the show is what he is like in person. Good-natured, polite, motivated, hard working. He'll do well for himself.

Apprentice on paper, but he’s got what it takes. Put that excavator together like a pro, you can tell he’s got a passion for just fixing things

Don’t judge a mechanic on looks, judge him on his work and character. He seemed polite even after being hazed, he’s someone you’d want to keep around the camp.

Guys were intimidated and jealous of that young man because he’s learned more in 3 years than they ever have. They played that totally wrong I hope that mechanic finds a good crew.

That wasn’t no apprentice. Maybe on paper but that doesn’t matter papers don’t move tools. I’d have really made that guy feel welcome so he’d wanna come back or even pop in for repairs when needed. A good mechanic is probably more valuable then the rest of the crew combined

Hope Torsten was paid well, the crew acting like they were doing him a favour. This fella will go far!

Trained Torsten in Fairview at Northwestern Polytech. He definitely has what it takes. Cool to see our graduates out making a difference. Great work Torsten! 👏

Watching a mechanic that knows what they are doing is a sight to be seen. 👏🏼👏🏼

That Apprentice is a Mechanic. When the required hours are filled just watch and see you'll be lucky to get an appointment. He will be that busy. He handles his youth well and is making the most of it. God bless that man.

22 years old and I'm a supervisor of field maintenance for the 2 largest ready mix company in oklahoma, I've been getting thrashed about my age since I got into this business, it amazes me at the grown 50 year old men that have no idea how to fix or diagnose their own vehicles let alone the million dollar machines they operate on a daily basis. Lol I love what I do tho wouldn't trade it for the world

Rick would be lucky to have a mechanic as dedicated as Torsten. He’s truly lost for thinking he’s just a kid and couldn’t learn more about gold sluecing than he ever wished to have known.

“Rookie mechanic”

Do you mean….. the volvo dealership mechanic? So your telling me, he desperately needed a excavator assembled so he called his dealership and they sent him a mechanic, who did his job??? WOAH. Wild.

Hands on experience is the best I say the kid proved himself putting the excavator together smoothly and quickly. Give him a shot on everything might prove his worth.

More experience than the whole crew..go young man!!

This guy is NOT a rookie mechanic, he his a trained technician ... and a great one !

The mechanic has Great West Equipment coveralls on. Great West is the Volvo dealer for most of Western/Northern Canada. This is definitely not his first excavator. Great work!

Parker would’ve never treated the kid that way. Parker knows talent when he sees it. That’s why he’s the most successful.

The "kid" is the only real man in the show, tats, beer bellies, and a condescending age bias don't make you a man...

They treated that mechanic like a piece of sh*t. That’s unfortunate. He’s clearly competent and they were demeaning him the whole time.

Dude bitches that he’s “just a kid” and just “an apprentice” yet he did what the entire crew couldn’t.

So close minded. I hope that apprentice never goes back to bail them out. And if he does I hope he charges them triple.
