2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Is New, More Efficient, Adds 42 HP

Debuting at the New York auto show, the 2026 Hyundai Palisade has a boxier look and updated powertrains.

Both a V-6 and a four-cylinder hybrid setup will be offered on U.S.-spec models.

Hyundai is also launching a rugged XRT Pro trim with more ground clearance and a terrain-mode drive selector.

While we got a preview of the 2026 Hyundai Palisade when the Korea-market version was revealed in December, the boldly styled SUV's U.S.-specific specs remained up in the air. The North American variant made its debut at the New York auto show today, and it's launching with a new V-6 as well as an optional hybrid powertrain.

The standard engine is the gas-powered 3.5-liter six, and it makes 287 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic is standard, but buyers can choose from front- or all-wheel drive. For the first time, the Palisade will offer a hybrid option, and the electrified powertrain is a fresh one that consists of a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder and a pair of electric motors that combine for 329 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque.

24 calligraphy owner here. The V6 is screaming for more gears but it requires space and r&d. 9 speed would have been ideal on the highway to drop the rpm down for better fuel economy.

Designer needs to install Active noise cancellation system !!!! My brother in law just purchased a Chevy Traverse AWD LT basic model this Traverse includes lots bells and whistles including 360 cameras views and Active Noise Cancellation system. You absolutely don’t hear anything in a cabin, nice and quiet with nice sound system for 45K !!! Hyundai needs to wake up !!!!

Actually, the tow hooks speak to driver or SUV off-road incapability, as they would be used to pull the Palisade out of a dumb situation.

You take away engine and transmission reliability from toyota. EV's have neither. Once EV's becomes mainstream, Hyundai could become #1 car maker on earth. Planting the seeds for electrification, no other brand comes close.

The Palisades update didn't do it any favors. Gone are the elegant tail lights and the almost magical " how'd they do that? " front lighting. Very sad.
