Today I’m sharing why I quit our curriculum from our family subjects. If you haven’t yet seen that video, you might be confused. You might want to watch that one first.

I’m sharing my heart with you on this matter, and being vulnerable. I hope you understand my heart more after listening. If you have any questions, leave them in the comments below!

Leave me a comment below telling me if you’ve ever ditched a curriculum!

I made a big switch two weeks in as well one year. It happens, but it's better to let go and move on than to trudge through. Hope you're enjoying your new curriculum!

I am a homeschool mom who struggles like this!! Sometimes if I switch up from the curriculum on a particular day I feel guilty. However I realize that it’s not about finishing curriculum but more about did my child learn that day. I also realize it’s not about finishing every lesson because even in traditional schools they don’t finished curriculum. My daughter brought unfinished curriculum books home on the last day of school when she attended private school. We do have to relax and allow the Holy Spirit to take control. Because what if I’m trying to be strict about finishing curriculum but my kid doesn’t understand one of the lessons. I might need to slow down for a couple of weeks until she gets it but that’s still learning. Learning at her own pace.

I honestly feel like you're such a truth seeking, sharing Momma and its truly a breath of fresh air. It is so hard being a mom, and a Homeschool mom at that. Instagram is such a great tool to connect us with like-minded mommas but it also can be a burden when it comes to comparison. I've actually took myself off of Instagram because I was catching myself comparing and nit picking my own self and the way I teach because of all the other moms that I 'think' are doing it 'better.' But I thank you for putting yourself out there and sharing what it's truly like to deal with actual struggles that we face, as teachers for our children. You're real, raw and I can see you try really hard and actually care about what and how your kids learn so again thank you, thank you, thank you! :) -Brooke

Excellent video! I’ve recently stepped away from some curriculum and it’s so freeing! I have this idea of “what I should be” and it’s not my reality. Thank you for sharing!!
PS: Love Willow!

Yes! I have definitely ditched curriculum! I have realized over the years that I am definitely an eclectic homeschooler! I struggled with that for so long 🤣 but I am trying to be more comfortable and confident in all this. Our kiddos are going into 6th and 3rd grade and I still feel like every year I change up things and do what works out best for our children and I. Nothing is ever concrete 🤣

We have definitely had to ditch many curriculums that weren’t working! we are using Gatherroundhomeschool.com which has been a lifesaver for us! It combines every subject in fun unit studies except math and we all learn it together and their work is on their level. Such a blessing! Thought I’d share in case you’re still needing to change. ❤️Thank you for this video!
