The continued gun violence that's happening across the city was up close to one man's home Monday. The violence has him frustrated over police presence that he says seems to come and go--here for big events like the Preakness, then diminishes, he says.

It's about the event. They protect their interest. Not people.

You shouldn't need a cop on every corner. You haven't been abandoned, your area is over representing crime

The "no snitch" culture is to blame. Why send cops to a community that protects criminals by never reporting the perpetrators of violence? A culture that celebrates gun violence will always have a gun violence problem, but pushing the cops out of the community only makes it worse

You can’t accuse someone of abandoning you if you publicly and continuously do everything in your power to push the entity out including rioting and looting and destruction and literally throwing rocks and glass bottles at them, then cry like a bitch when they go away & say they abandoned you. No, they didn’t abandon you, they gave you exactly what you wanted. You wanted police to go. They left. Now that you see what happens when no police are around, you want them back so you can keep throwing rocks and glass at them?

You wanted it… you live with it.

Why should cops risk life for a bunch of people that complain talk crap disrespect them. Whenever a crime is committed cops ask questions the number 1 answer we hear is I got nothing to say to you

For the prejudice people in the comments, just because a group of people wanted to “defund the police” doesn’t mean all black people want that. Let’s not be blind to the fact that there was white people also saying the same thing. It wouldn’t be safe to say that all white people support the KKK so let’s not say all blacks support defunding the police.
