I've seen two AV-8A Harriers crash with the old ejection seats. One turned turtle and ejected into the runway, the other ejected 90 degrees to the horizon and .... we found his body in a hedge coming back from PT. I've had so many of my Military Family take ejections and I'm grateful for each and every one who survived.

He really loved that Plane, it seems. He did not want to eject, almost under any circumstances it seemed.

I remember that day at Kandahar Airfield. Lots of black smoke and excitement. As l understand, the pilot wasn't able to continue as a fighter pilot after the crash due to injuries from this and a previous ejection.

Martin Baker… invented the ejection seat and he just happens to be a Northern Irishman. The company is still based in NI. 💪🏼

Worked egress for a dozen years with 3 saves. Grateful they trusted us to get them out.

He was riding a lighting rod! I bet people think being a pilot is fun and easy. As a fighter pilot, you have to be the best of the best, must be smart as a tack, and of course have balls of steel. I was taking lessons in my 40"s out of North Las Vegas airport. Third lesson we fly towards the Santa Fe Casino (us Fighter Jocks use visual markers). When returning, i look around and see many planes and jets in the sky! I give all the controls to my instructor! Did i feel crowded! These men and women that protect us deserve the best! GODSPEED to all our military who protect us !

Just found you. Subbed. I've subbed a few expert in their field vets with ur size subs. They're all 500k plus now. Problem is they get big into the ads in their videos. Those ads hit at their credibility and authenticity. Hope you get huge and hope you don't get stuck in the ad game. 🙏 Good luck. Great commentary. Appreciate the work. 🙏

Do they still give out watches? (For a successful ejection Martin-Baker would give or sell the survivor a special watch)

There's an interview out there with him talking about this. Worth watching.

I’m sure I’d be happy to have an ejection seat if I needed it. But I hear they’re no joke to have to use

My uncle is a retired marine corps airframes in multiple MCAS bases worked on aircraft from the mid 90’s through the 2000’.s These men were lucky. I’ve heard of some horror stories. All that weight from the payload crumpled in on a lot of the old birds hitting ship decks too hards, or sliding across the ground in fire. They’re the widow maker for a reason
