Low walled cubicles don't make the office less lonely or more collaborative. I worked in one of those and was just as lonely if not more so than I was when I had my own office. It actually facilitated cliques and office bullying activities and you couldn't escape into another room because there was only the one big collaborative room.

I specifaclly searched this title because I really hit rock bottom as a remote worker. Also I have not a single friend at that point of my life like If I want to go out and drink some coffee I basically have not even a single soul to call. Nobody wants to be in a genuine relationship with nobody and I feel like an astronaut in the space. All alone...

Who's this noreena hertz? What does she know? What does she REALLY know about folk like ME who HAVE TO be lonely and isolated because they CANNOT GO to anywhere supposedly "social" because they can't stand the absolutely EXCRUCIATING NOISE in such places and cannot live with anyone either because of that and far more other appalling hidden disabilities which are never recognised and SHOULD be! The sooner the BETTER!
