Here I am building a custom chameleon enclosure for my new baby panther chameleon. I will walk you through all the steps of how I built this wooden enclosure and how I added my plants, lights, and a fogging system.

Here is a list of what I used
A staple gun with zinc staples
Drill with stainless steel screws.

Take out the hammock because their nails can get caught on them. Only use the frog at night. Chameleon usually have moist nights and dry during 12 to 4 pm. Everything looks good! It is a little too short for a Panther chameleon, but it can work. Mist an hour before the lights come on and off.

Hi there! Nice build! I would mention for the fogger it’s best to use only when lights are off. For panthers and veileds it’s recommended to have 100% at night, and 30-40% humidity during the day! ( I learnt this a few months ago!) what I do is spray the cage once in the morning and a second time 1.5 hours before lights out, and have the fogger running all night :)

I have a Chamaeleon egg
doesn’t hatch until some time in October
doing my research and learning as much as I can before it hatches
Definitely wanna build my own cage now instead of buying one

this is a great DIY enclosure, one thing i will say is be careful using reptile hammocks for Chams it is known to pull out their cute little claws. Try using more branches of all sizes instead. i cut branches off my tree in my back yard and used those after washing them so it doesnt even have to cost money

Hey this looks great! Also, you may have already figured this out, but we had a scare because after about two weeks, we read you are supposed to take the plastic cover off the UVB bulb because the rays don’t penetrate it!

How did you secure the screen to the wood?

Would love to see an update on the chameleons, I'm thinking of ordering one from the same place just a little hesitant.

Hi! What did you put in the bottom of the enclosure? (The base) and is it sitting on anything? I’m wondering if moisture gets under it?

That closure is too small for an adult Panther chameleon! But cool
