BOTW, I think Zelda is also reluctant and bitter to appoint her champion because it implies that she will fail in the near future, otherwise this Link would not exist.
TOTK, I fully buy in to them marrried/Zelda living in LINK's house. So the game becomes a 'what happened to my wife?' game. (The bed IS bigger than a single.)

My brother is the one who actually got me into the Zelda series at a young age playing oot and tp I fell in love with the storyline and have played every game for several years but by far totk is definitely a fan favorite but it even has non Zelda fans coming together to play it so it makes me proud to have been so into Zelda for so long ❤

I'm surprised you didn't spend a little bit more time focusing on the time between BotW and TotK. It seems very clear (at worst it's implied) that Link and Zelda were living together and in a full relationship. At least there is nothing in TotK that contradicts that idea.

Some Link's and Zelda's I'm okay with shipping and think they have romantic tension and are cute together. But some Links and Zeldas are very clearly just friends or even stangers to each other and shipping those ones just feels like they're being shipped just for the sake of it. I really love that the series as a whole supports the different relationships these two can have.

My headcanon is that in Zelda II, Zelda the first (who is not the Zelda from Zelda I) saw visions of Link’s whole journey while she was in the magic sleep, which made her fall for him as if she had been there. Although until she explains this to Link, he would be confusaroused by her affection.

I find it nice that Eiji Aonuma said in an IGN interview that Link and Zelda’s relationship is Tears Of The Kingdom is up to the everyone’s imagination almost as if he knew it would be interpreted as romantic

Some incarnations (for example Twilight Princess) are borderline strangers that just happened to be on the same side (and know OF each others' roles in fighting the big bad more than they know each other), other incarnations (like Minish Cap) make them friends or even besties, Spirit Tracks goes all in on making "puppy love" a believable argument, Skyward Sword absolutely has them want to be more than friends... And BotW/TotK does slightly imply it, but doesn't state the relationship outright.

11:17 Link has a full harem in OoT. In addition to Zelda and Malon, Saria the Kokiri and Ruto the Zora princess are also in the mix, with Ruto definitely the most aggressive, and you get the sense that Link could pursue any of them. Though Saria remaining a child forever makes that one a bit ooky.

This video has made me want to go back and play every game in the series again (except Zelda II). I can't do that. I have work and bills and responsibilities now. I don't get three months in the summer anymore, or week-long breaks for the holidays. Funny little detail I noticed in Wind Waker: During the final battle against Ganondorf after Zelda wakes up, she suddenly has a bow and Light Arrows with no explanation. In my most recent playthrough, I thought to double-team Ganondorf with Light Arrows, only to find my bow was missing from my inventory. Zelda stole and is using LINK'S bow!

They are the Hero and the Goddess, the Knight and the Princess, destined to find each other through ages in different versions of themselves. Not only for some fate of Triforce or a curse of Demise, but because their souls long for it. They love each other.

I love how Nintendo keeps it open for everyone. I feel each game someone different ends up with link. The most canon link and zelda relationship is skyward sword. But in other games, the relationship between link and zelda couldn’t be more professional. Ocarina of time, there wasn’t as much as a relationship, more like Zelda and link had a nice friendship. In Twilight Princess it felt like a business meeting lol. FINALLY, in the new games you start to see that they develop a relationship, whether it be friendship or romantic.
