Matek F405-OSD Overview and Tips

This is the new F4 flight controller from Matek. I have been useing Matek PDBs from the start of my quadcopter addiction and they have always served me well so when i saw this flight controller and then the features i had to get one. This is packed full of features like an f4 processor 32k gyro current monitoring and a build in OSD. It was really simple to wire one of the easiest setups ive had due to the cleaver use of a ribbon cable. Once ive tested this for a while this will probably be my go to flight controller!

These are now available at:

Quad Setup

Motors: Brother hobby returner r4 2300kv

ESC: 20a DYS XSD

Camera: Foxeer Arrow v3

Vtx: TBS unify pro 5v

Awesome board, packed with features for a great price. Highly recommended, so far I have 3 builds using this board with no issues

Hi, nice video. Are all the 5v slots the same? Looks like 2 amp max. I used this for a wing and have two small servos and trying to figure the best 5v slot for them

you said you connected camera control: did you need to add any resistor to get it working or could you just wire it up without any extra parts needed?

Good stuff. I wonder about the durability of that ribbon cable though. In a big crash that could get damaged. Will Matek supply replacement ribbon cables or is it a case that if that gets damaged you'd need to buy a complete new set....

Great video...just bought one, and don't know where do i have to wire the ground from my ESC's. I saw lot of people wiring only the white wire to the PDB, but i don't know where the black (ground) wire goes. Could you help me out please?

Also for the smart port from the XSR, i have to do the non-invert hack right? And where to i have to wire that?

Hopefully you can help...Thank you.

Do you have to use that PDB for the FC to work. I'm looking at getting a this flight controller but want to use a different PDB. If so, do I power the flight controller with the 5V and GND pads on the right-hand side.

Hi there I have a question. I'm a noobie and want to know I see on your video you used 5v to power up tbs but I hear you should use 12v. I have the matek pdb and flight controller.

do you know if this has enough inverted UART to have a frsky sbus receiver like XSR, XSR telemetry, and smart audio?

Is this Flight controller support smart audio?

Can anyone tell me what drivers/where to get them to get this FC to show up in Zadig?
