I love that Missy Higgins sings in her Aussie accent. She doesn’t use the “singer accent” that English speaking singers usually use. I think because we only usually hear people “speak” in our accent it makes us listen to it in a different way when sung. Despite the fact the she’s singing it’s like she’s speaking to me. That combined with her beautiful pure voice makes it seem really “honest”. I love her.

I was wondering when missy Higgins would make it here, she’s amazing. Such a beautiful voice and she has some incredible songs. “Where I stood” and “steer” are a couple I think you’d like

She’s not country. She’s Missy Higgins. Unique. This song always makes me cry.

Such an iconic song from Missy, and some of her best song writing.

Missy Higgins is a national treasure. Agree with so many others that her best work is live, she has a way of drawing you in and making you feel as though her music is a shared experience. She has been the soundtrack to our lives and we love her for it.

Man Missy Higgins is a long ass road to go down and get lost in, a talent unlike any other. Some of her best work isn’t on an album- songs like Greed For Your Love and Dancing Dirt Into The Snow are worth a listen. But you MUST listen to They Weren’t There.

She is my absolute favourite female Aussie artist. I’ve been to many of her concerts. She has such a unique voice and she is an amazing songwriter. I hope you get to see more of her.

Missy Higgins covering Goyte 'Hearts A Mess' for Triple J's Like A Version is an amazing performance - hope others agree and you react to it

Oh gosh! I was going to request this! This song makes me cry. You must listen to Sound of White...the song and the whole album. It's spectacular 💙💙💙

Glad you’ve discovered my favourite singer. Her music really is sublime. Her voice, already amazing then, seems to get even better with age. As others have said, she really is the soundtrack of many lives, including mine. One of her possibly less popular songs “Forgive me” still breaks me to this day.

Wow this just took me back 20 years - Missy was on the radio a lot then, in Australia and New Zealand anyway! This song is from her first album 'The Sound of White', released in 2004 - still one of my favourites 😊 she was only 20 at the time too - so talented!

So glad someone asked for Missy Higgins. Truly, there is so much amazing music that you can never hope to cover even packing in 10 songs a day (And I know it takes way longer to get these reactions organised and uploaded than just the time it takes to record the video.)

FULL DISCLAIMER: I've known Missy and particular members of her family for years, we're from the same part of Melbourne, but Missy's was the first voice I heard live that ripped me to shreds, and it was this song. Tearing up even now as I type. Her duet with Gordi on this is one of the most sublime things I've ever heard.

I have such powerful memories of this song. She's such a powerful songwriter and a born performer. I always make sure to see her live whenever she tours.

A typically relaxed, charming performance by a special talent.

To me personally, Missy is the female Paul Kelly, both a brilliant writer, and they both just tell a story so well, and for me, both sound so very Australian..

'Steer' and 'Scar' are two of her most iconic songs, I think you'd really appreciate 'Arrows, ' 'They Weren't There, ' and 'Nightminds, ' too.

Missy, like Paul Kelly and Mark Seymour, is a storyteller with her voice and songs. 20 odd years later I still get a lump in my throat from this song - one of my husband’s absolute favourites. We’ve been blessed to see her twice - last time saw our kids running down the front to within a metre of her rocking out ‘Scar’ three weeks before Covid hit Melbourne. Fortunate moments.
