Hi guys! In this video, I'll show you how to find the perimeter and area of parallelograms! So, what are parallelgrams? Well, as you can see, it is pretty similar to a rectangle because a parallelogram also has four sides and four corners. To find the perimeter of a parallelogram, all you have to do is use this formula: (P = 2 x (a + b) where a and b are the outer sides of the parallelogram). The area is a bit more tricky. I will show you why the area of the parallelogram is the same as the area of a rectangle (A = base x height). Lastly, don't forget to square your unit if you find the area!
By the end of the video, I hope that you learned how to easily find the area and the perimeter of the parallelograms. This is one of my favourite exercises in math because it is so easy. In the next video, instead of the perimeter and area of parallelograms, I'm going to show you how to find the perimeter and area of trapezoids, and the method is pretty similar.
